Les Deux Alpes – Ski and Snowboard all year round

Le Deux Alpes

Les. Deux. Alpes. The only three words you will need to know when considering your next ski or snowboarding trip in Europe. The resort that has it all will not disappoint even the most discerning of enthusiasts. Get ready to put Les Deux Alps on top of your destination wish-list this year.

Europe’s largest glacier

The most important thing to mention about Les Deux Alpes is that it hosts Europe’s largest glacier which gives the gift of snow all year round. The promise of fresh powder will be welcomed by all holiday makers as they can be often disappointed by the unstable weather in some of Europe’s resorts.

Summer skiing

By the end of April most of Europe’s ski resorts have closed up shop for the season. So if you have not quite had your skiing or boarding fix for the year, head to Les Deux Alps to be part of the ever growing popular summer season. The majestic slopes of this unique part of the Alps look even more appealing with a dose of summer sun.  And you don’t have to wait another seven months before you get back on your skis or board so it’s time to take advantage of everything else that Les Deux Alps has to offer.

Home to world class snow park

The resort is all set up to cater for young and old, experienced and inexperienced. To attract and excite the young freestyle crowd and the experienced thrill seeker skiers, Les Deux Alpes is home to a world class snow park. This offers the perfect playground for those who want to let rip and show off their skills. There is a diversity of location during the year so the chance to master both will appeal to most. During the winter the snow park is located at the Jandri mid-station and set up on the mighty glacier during the summer. The La Fee area is always highly recommended for advanced skiers as there are some heart stopping black runs and excellent off-piste action at the nearby La Grave. This amount of high octane energy should keep even the most experienced (and brave!) skiers and boarders satisfied.

Is all of this relevant to a beginner skier and boarder? Well the answer is quite simply yes. Beginners are well catered for with the motorway-pistes that have easy runs heading back towards the resort. You can choose to take a gondola back to the resort as well you favour the option!

And for the après ski…

No resort is complete without après ski and evening entertainment and Les Deux Alps is no exception. This is not like a small quaint village which usually comes hand in hand with most European resorts. This resort is host to extensive night life, bars, restaurants, events and parties and additional summer activities to keep everyone entertained. The area is quite spread out but gives the chance to explore more each evening and offers a day time shopping experience to those who need a rest from the slopes.

Plenty of tour operators are running this resort, so it’s best to shop around for a good deal if you consider going. The resort is family friendly as well and includes all facilities a skier or snowboarder could need. There are plenty of accommodation options, but why not give the chalets a miss and enjoy the luxury of Les Deux Alpes Hotel? Finding the ultimate ski and snowboarding experience in Europe means trying out many locations each year but the search is definitely over when you indulge in all this French resort has to offer.
